Margat Castle is a large historic fortress on a high hill near Banias in Tartus Governorate, overlooking the Syrian coast and surrounding plains. Dating to the medieval period, it is among the foremost castles of the coast, with walls, towers, and defensive works on a commanding site. Its setting, views, and architecture make it valued by visitors of history and exploration.

قلعة المرقب قلعة تاريخية ضخمة تقع على تلة مرتفعة قرب مدينة بانياس في محافظة طرطوس، وتطل على الساحل السوري والسهول المحيطة بها. يعود تاريخها إلى العصور الوسطى، وتُعد من أبرز القلاع التاريخية في الساحل السوري، بما تتميز به من أسوار وأبراج ومنشآت دفاعية وموقع استراتيجي مرتفع. يمنحها موقعها وإطلالتها وطابعها المعماري قيمة خاصة لعشاق التاريخ والآثار والاستكشاف.
