Salkhad Castle sits on an extinct volcanic crater above the town of Salkhad in As-Suwayda Governorate. Built of basalt in the thirteenth century under the Ayyubids, it guarded the southern road and overlooks the Hauran plains and the steppe. Its conical height and wide panorama make it valued by castle and landscape visitors.
قلعة صلخد قلعة أيوبية تقوم على فوهة بركانية خامدة فوق مدينة صلخد في محافظة السويداء. بُنيت بالحجر البازلتي في القرن الثالث عشر لحماية الطريق الجنوبي وتشرف على سهول حوران والبادية. يمنحها ارتفاعها المخروطي وإطلالتها الواسعة قيمة خاصة لعشاق القلاع والمناظر الطبيعية.
