Ugarit is an ancient Canaanite city at Ras Shamra north of Latakia on the Syrian coast. It is famed for an early alphabet and tablet archives that reveal Bronze Age politics and religion. Its role in writing and seafaring history makes it valued by archaeology visitors.
موقع أوغاريت الأثري مدينة كنعانية قديمة تقع عند رأس شمرا شمال اللاذقية على الساحل السوري. اشتُهرت باكتشاف أبجدية مبكرة وأرشيفات لوحية تكشف عن الحياة السياسية والدينية في العصر البرونزي. يمنحه دوره في تاريخ الكتابة والملاحة قيمة خاصة لعشاق الآثار والحضارات القديمة.
